Bellini Chapel - Museum Bellini Chapel - Museum was built towards the end of the 19th century, and is designed in the style of a Baroque Italian Chapel. The Chapel's facade is adorned with statues and patisseries, and a belfry is housed in the clock tower. The painter Emannuel Bellini's studio is here, and numerous works of his are exhibited here. Maritime Museum Located in the Sainte Marguerite Island fortress, visitors to the Maritime Museum must arrive by boat service, which is available all year long. The museum has a variety of displays, including antique Roman and Arabian ceramics, and many items which have been located on the sea floor. Visitors may also see the fortress, which was built by Richelieu in the 17th century, and was once the well known prison that held the 'Man in the Iron Mask'. Castre Museum The Castre Museum is located in the Castre Tower, which was a part of the Cannes castle and was built by monks to protect the bay and the fort in the 11th century. On display are a number of archaelogical and ethnologic items from around the world, with a high number being from the mediterranean area. A number of paintings from the 18th and 19th century are also on display, and many of these depict Cannes and Provence. On the top of the tower is a lookout point, which provides an excellent view of the Cannes bay. Guided tours are available. Address: Place de la Castre, Le Suquet Cannes France 06400

La Malmaison La Malmaison houses an extensive collection of artwork and other items. The building itself was once part of Le Grand Hotel, which was designed by architects Vianey and Blondel in 1863, and underwent numerous renovations, demolititions and re-buildings throughout the years. La Malmaison is all that remains today. On the first floor is the Cannes City Cultural Affairs Department. There is a garden level, and located here is an area for temporary art exhibits, and those featured usually focus on artist who have left their mark on modern or contemporary art. Exhibitions relating to cinema, as well as selections from the Museum of Cannes, are also displayed here. Address: 47, la Croisette Cannes France
